The U.S. Senate voted to add an amendment to the 2010 Transportation Appropriations Bill that will end taxpayer funding for ACORN, the leftist advocacy organization that helped bring Barack Obama to power. The bill passed with an 83 to 7 vote. The only Senators who voted in favor of supporting ACORN with taxpayer money were: Dick Durbin (D-IL) Roland Burris (D-IL) Robert Casey (D-PA) Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) Patrick Leahy (D-NY) Bernie Sanders (I-VT) Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI)
If Congress did investigate ACORN, who would they put in charge? Barney Frank? Wait a minute... wasn't it Barney Frank that was called upon by the Consumer Rights League to investigate ACORN and he refused to do so? With the latest investigative findings, lets hope the IRS will finally take away the tax exemption of this criminal group.
4th ACORN video surfaces... San Bernardino, California.
ABC News anchor Charlie Gibson was asked on 890am WLS Radio's "Don & Roma Show" what he thought of the 5 day-old ACORN story.
"I don't even know about it," Gibson said, laughing. "So you've got me at a loss."
What does this say about the "major" media ignoring issues here in America? Speculation is only possible at this time, but maybe they can't find the angle to disentangle their friends out of this mess.
The Wall Street Journal reported on October 14, 2008:
During his (Obama's) tenure on the board of Chicago's Woods Fund, that body funneled more than $200,000 to ACORN.
In November 2007, Senator Obama addressed ACORN and thanked the organization for its work.
“I’ve been fighting alongside Acorn on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, Acorn was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.”
With Obama's ties to ACORN, we can only conclude they just report the news that this administration wants reported.
Even though the controlled media isn't reporting on this story, somehow Senate Republican Leader Dean Skelos found out, and is asking Attorney General Andrew Cuomo and Comptroller Tom DiNapoli to stop any state money from going to ACORN or its subsidiary organization, the New York Agency for Community Affairs.
NOW... A man and a woman went into the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, (ACORN), housing office in Baltimore with a hidden video camera posing as a prostitute and her boyfriend, complaining about how banks would not give them a loan for a house. (ACORN became infamous last year when it was investigated for voter registration fraud in 14 states, and again just recently, 11 ACORN workers were accused by Florida prosecutors of falsifying information on some 900 voter registration forms). The staff was happy to help, seemingly unfazed, by the fact the boyfriend said that they wanted to smuggle 13 minor teenage girls illegally from El Salvador, to “learn” how to do what his girlfriend does, which was very clearly admitted to be prostitution. The ACORN representative suggested that they could claim at least some of them as dependants and get a child tax credit for them. Not only is all of this wantonly illegal, it’s immoral on a level that is reprehensible. But apparently it's OK with the Oval Office, and the Congressional Black Caucus as these “public servants” have been complicit in the protection of ACORN and in the never-ending increase in its funding and power in Washington, D.C. Since 1994, ACORN has received federal taxpayer money, in the amount of $53 million. What amount of federal tax dollars is ACORN eligible to receive in Obama's 2009, Stimulus Package?... $8.5 billion.
FOX TV and Glenn Beck were the first to break the story. Margaret Williams, an ACORN official from Maryland said,
"It is clear and not coincidence that FOX continues to attack and divide our nation along racial lines. We believe our country is beyond this type of attack and call on all Americans to demand that FOX stop its racist coverage."
But today, U.S. Rep. Charles W. Boustany, Jr., [(R-LA], called for a hearing to investigate ACORN, following evidence of suggested tax fraud.
Rep. Steve King [R-IA], also calls for Congressional investigations. He said...
“As this video confirms, ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Awa15-QMutI ), ACORN continues to operate as a criminal enterprise. Nancy Pelosi, John Conyers, Barney Frank and other Democrats on Capitol Hill continue to protect and fund ACORN while blocking Congressional hearings on ACORN’s operations and finances."
And yet another casualty: Census Bureau severs ties with ACORN. Census director Robert Groves wrote in a letter that it no longer had confidence that ACORN was effectively managing the partnership.
Rep. Michele Bachmann [R-MN], has requested Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Chairman Barney Frank conduct a congressional investigation into ACORN, concerning its use of federal funds.
Rep. Roscoe Bartlett [R-MD]: "Absolutely, there should be a congressional investigation since we now have a very apparent pattern of improper activities by ACORN."
Sen. Mike Johanns [R-NE], has proposed an amendment that would prohibit ACORN from receiving funds from the current transportation and housing appropriations bill.

On December 1, 2007, at the Heartland Democratic Presidential Forum, (a forum exclusively for thousands of community organizers, including the pro-Obama "community organizing" group ACORN), Barack Obama was asked:
[If elected president of the United States, would you agree in your first 100 days to meet with the delegation of representatives from these various community organizations, The Campaign for Community Values; could they count on you in your first 100 days to sit down with them?]
"Yes. But let me even say before I even get inaugurated during the transition we're going to be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda. We're gonna be having meetings all across the country with community organizations so that you have input into the agenda for the next presidency of the United States of America."
Rush Limbaugh reminds us...
"Remember, ACORN is Barack Obama’s training ground. When he got to Chicago he became a community organizer with ACORN. He taught them how to do things; they taught him how to do things. We now have an ACORN-type community agitator as president of the United States."
